  • Telescope
  • 8" EdgeHD optics for excellent visual and photographic results, without coma and field curvature
  • Built-in lithium iron phosphate battery with enough power for a ten-hour observation night
  • Built-in WiFi means you don't need the hand controller! Use your smartphone or tablet instead, which connects to the telescope via WiFi
  • StarSense AutoAlign takes care of alignment and works with the SkyPortal app
  • Fastar/Hyperstar compatible: With f/2, very short exposure times are sufficient for deep-sky photography - this often saves you having to use a polar wedge or autoguider!
  • The NexStar Evolution mount offers numerous useful details such as manual clamping, very precise worm gears in both axes, a USB charging port, an illuminated storage plate and much more
  • Leave the automatic StarSense alignment off and then select your targets on your smartphone

The Evolution mount in a set with the best telescopes and the most modern technologies Celestron has to offer. This set supplements the Evo mount with the StarSense AutoAlign module, taking the alignment procedure off your hands: the built-in camera orients itself to the sky and initiates the telescope for computer control and automatic tracking. The 8" EdgeHD tube provides a flat, bright image of the sky.

You don't have to do anything while the telescope automatically orients itself to the sky within minutes! With the additional options, the NexStar Evolution 8 HD set is an extremely powerful, user-friendly and quick-to-use combination.

Compared to buying it separately, you save a lot of money compared to the normal NexStar Evo 8. Compare for yourself:

  • EdgeHD tube instead of Schmidt-Cassegrain: the EdgeHD telescopes not only offer photographers the advantage of a flattened field of view, but also have an improved focusing mechanism, ventilation openings with fine dust screens for faster temperature equalization and above all: the Schmidt plate is prepared for Hyperstar - so you can turn the optics into an ultra-fast astrograph with 400mm/f2
  • StarSense module - the telescope automatically orients itself to the starry sky, all you have to do is set it up and switch it on.
  • StarPointer Pro instead of StarPointer - With target circles and brighter, dimmable LED, also suitable for daytime observations.

Perfect WiFi control via tablet or smartphone
The planetarium program on your smartphone shows you the current sky view or a list of observation targets for your location. The easy-to-use SkyAlign is integrated into the Celestron app, so you can set up the telescope and adjust the three reference stars in just a few minutes.

Simple and convenient operation
The NexStar Evolution telescopes have been developed based on customer feedback from recent years. They offer many well thought-out details so that you can enjoy the best possible night under the stars.

No more worries about batteries or an external power supply. The NexStar Evolution is the first amateur telescope to have a built-in lithium iron phosphate battery. One charge lasts up to ten hours. You can even use the Evolution's USB port to power other devices you want to use at night.

The NexStar Evolution is easy to set up thanks to the large, ergonomic handles. The steel tripod has markings so you can easily extend all legs to the same length. The azimuth and elevation clamps allow you to align the telescope to a target even without power. Up to seven eyepieces can be stored in two storage compartments - one even has dimmable red LED illumination.

More power and safety thanks to lithium iron phosphate battery
Instead of a typical lithium polymer battery, the Evolution telescopes use a lithium iron phosphate battery. These LiFePO4 batteries have several advantages over the simple LiPo batteries:

  • High safety: unlike LiPo batteries, LiFePO4 batteries cannot explode or ignite, but are considered intrinsically safe.
  • The improved power density ensures a high load capacity even with continuous current drain.
  • Long service life and cycle stability.
  • Wide temperature range for storage and operation
  • Low self-discharge
