Compact and fast for mirrorless camera systems
The Samyang 35mm T1.3 ED AS UMC CS cine lens is another addition to the Samyang range of light giants for mirrorless system cameras. But "giant" is not the right term, because despite their enormous speed, these manual prime lenses are extremely compact. Due to the internal focusing, the overall length does not change, which predestines this Lens as a classic "always-on" lens.

The SAMYANG 35mm T1.3 VDSLR Lens has the same optical qualities and features of the photo lens, but unlike the photo lens, it was designed for professional follow focus systems. Like all SAMYANG VDSLR models, it is equipped with a gridless and continuously adjustable aperture, smooth, easy focus adjustment, T-aperture values that can be read from the side and distance scales. The aperture and focus rings have gear rims for focusing by means of follow focus and thus allow smooth tracking of the focus during filming. The high-quality mechanics and the metal housing are extremely robust and a lens hood is also supplied with this model, which is not a matter of course in the field of videography.

Both lens variants master difficult lighting situations equally well. The object, which can be excellently exposed at open aperture, is surrounded by a creamy bokeh. A 35mm fixed focal length like this is often referred to as a reportage lens because it allows photographers and filmmakers to immerse themselves more deeply in a scene. It is therefore ideally placed to give the viewer the feeling of being right in the middle of the action. The slightly wide-angle image circle of 44.6° (APS-C) makes the SAMYANG an ideal companion for many applications.

The already very compact dimensions of these all-metal light giants remain unchanged due to the internal focusing when focusing. The nine glass elements, which are arranged in seven groups, include two multi-coated aspherical lenses and one ED glass (extra-low dispersion). These effectively reduce chromatic aberrations and enable images with a balanced color brilliance. The matching lens hood, which prevents annoying reflections and unwanted light incidence if required, is included in the scope of delivery.

Universally applicable light giants
The SAMYANG 35mm supports photographers and filmmakers in the creative realization of extraordinary perspectives. Even from close range, as the Lens has a close focusing distance of just 38 centimetres. Even at open aperture, it guarantees uniform image quality right into the corners of the image. The high lens speed of F1.2 or T1.3 ensures impressive image results even in difficult lighting conditions and when shooting in the dark.

At open aperture, a subject can be wonderfully cropped and particularly beautiful contrasts are created between the razor-sharp main subject and the softly outlined surroundings. The large aperture in combination with nine circular aperture blades ensures a wonderful, buttery-soft bokeh, while a small aperture (max. aperture 16 for both versions) helps to achieve a high and detailed depth of field.

As with all SAMYANG lenses, the mount is made of high-quality all-metal. A non-slip metal focusing and aperture ring and the robust front bayonet with 62mm filter thread enable an inspiring shooting experience. The advantages of state-of-the-art mirrorless cameras and the creative possibilities of "classic" photography and filming with manual focus can thus be perfectly combined and ensure lasting impressions for the user and ultimately for the viewer of the images.

Both versions of the Lens are easy to handle thanks to their large angle of rotation, which enables precise focusing to the point. This means that perspectives, color moods and lighting situations are optimally reproduced, even with challenging subjects. And all this with low distortion and excellent stray light reduction. The modern nano lens coating prevents unwanted ghosting, flare and shading effects in critical lighting situations.

The advantages of manual lenses
The use of classic, manual lenses on modern cameras is no longer an insider tip. Shooting and filming with a manual fixed focal length gives the user the special feeling of creating something themselves and makes them independent of technical parameters, electronic helpers and standard presets. The high mechanical quality makes shooting with SAMYANG Lens a visual and tactile experience reminiscent of the days of mechanical cameras.
