4D FOCUS - Autofocusing evolves
Autofocus performance has been improved by optimally applying the same autofocus innovations as the α9. So once the α7 III captures subjects with unpredictable movements, such as dancers, boxers, and wildlife in action, it keeps them in focus.
Furthermore, this camera has an impressive number of phase-detection autofocus points: 693 of them, covering about 93% of the image area, and 425 densely placed contrast-detection autofocus points for better focusing.

The α7 III features a touch focus function and a touch pad function. This allows you to intuitively move the focus area with a finger movement when using the viewfinder.

AF fields/points can be changed when you switch between horizontal and vertical orientation. You can assign focus point settings to custom buttons.
