  • Portrait lens
  • with classic focal length 75 mm for Sony E full frame and APS-C
  • super fast autofocus with linear stepper motor
  • extremely fast due to aperture F1.8 - F22
  • wonderful bokeh for unique portraits
  • excellent image quality up to the corners of the image
  • freely configurable custom switch for individual requirements

Rediscovering the classic portrait focal length
In the past, 75 mm was considered the ideal portrait focal length, not the 85 mm that is standard today. The advantage is that the photographer has more room to maneuver in the composition of the image, because the angle of view of 32.9° on full format, 21.9° on APS-C, leaves more room. The photographer can also get closer to the model during the shoot, which is especially beneficial for the atmosphere of intimacy between photographer and model in elaborate studio productions and creates serenity. In short, the 75mm focal length creates unique images that stand out from the usual portraits.

"Tiny but Absolute" - small and absolutely top-notch!
With the AF 75mm F1.8 FE, Samyang expands the "Tiny" line of compact, lightweight lenses for Sony Alpha mirrorless cameras with the exotic portrait focal length of 75mm. Now available focal lengths include 18mm, 24mm, 35mm, 45mm and 75mm. The Lens is particularly compact, measuring only 69 mm in length and 65 mm in largest diameter, and is lightweight, weighing only 230 grams. The filter thread has a diameter of 58 mm, and the lens hood is removable. The highest imaging quality is provided by 10 elements in 9 groups, including 2 high refractive index (HR) glass lenses and 3 ultra-low dispersion (ED) glass lenses. All glass elements are multi-coated with Samyang's proprietary Ultra Multi Coating (UMC). The coating prevents reflections and chromatic aberrations, and also ensures accurate color reproduction. Due to the 9 blades of the aperture, highlights in the bokeh appear as beautiful round circles. Combined with the extremely high glass quality of the lenses, the result is a fantastic lens that delivers images that are crystal clear in resolution from the center to the far corners and are absolutely sharp, even with the aperture open.

Novelty Custom Switch
New to this lens is the Custom Switch, where you would actually expect the AF/MF switch to be. It can be switched between Mode 1 and Mode 2. The special feature here is that the two switch positions can be assigned by the user. This is done when the lens is connected to the computer via a Lens Station and the Lens Manager software. Currently, both switch positions can be freely assigned with the modes "manual focus", "manual iris" and "auto focus". More modes can be added via firmware update, which is also imported via the Lens Station and the Lens Manager, as soon as Samyang launches them. The Lens Station is generally used to play firmware updates to lenses. You can use it to customize the lens to your individual needs.

Super-fast autofocus, whisper-quiet
Thanks to a linear stepper motor, autofocus is guided quietly, quickly and accurately. Between just 0.12 and 0.20 seconds is required to focus between each of the outermost positions in the Lens, depending on the selected focus preference and direction of movement, making it the perfect companion for use with moving subjects. At just 23.03 dB of noise, the AF 75mm F1.8's focus is as quiet as a whisper. This also makes the Lens ideal for autofocus filming.

Suitable for Portrait, Travel, City and Details
With its 75mm focal length, this lightweight telephoto lens is primarily suited for portrait photography. However, you will also get your money's worth with the Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 FE for travel and city views.
